  6. Love the podcast and I have learned alot! Thank you all so much!!! You all are really helping me to improve my skills and I cannot thank you enough.

  7. Thanks so much for all of the podcasts – I look forward to listening to them in the carpool line all week long :). I was wondering what Jim recommends using in place of virtual copies? I love them and use them all the time but would like to use something that I will be able to transfer when the time comes. Thanks!!

    1. @Jonica,

Jim and Darin both recommended configuring the catalog to write out XMP sidecar files to make it easy to move your edits from Lr from a laptop to a desktop. And that is the very easiest way to do that. However, I recommend NOT enabling that function because Lr 6/CC has some bugs with that functionality that negatively impacts performance and has some known issues with regard to round tripping between Lr and Ps. Instead, I recommend that you select he photos you want to move from your laptop to your desktop in Lr on the laptop, export them as a catalog, then copy the exported catalog to the desktop and import it. Not as simple as the XMP files, but your virtual copy edits will remain, and Lr will perform better.

  8. I love that movie too! We had gotten it from the local library, but hadn’t watched it until after hearing this podcast. My wife and I laughed so hard we cried! Great podcast guys!

  9. Summer beach vacation to Corolla, NC. One day of lousy weather. Maybe some of us had a little too much to drink. Maybe. Scanning through the movies – Here Comes The Boom. What the heck is that? Start it, get another beer, pour some more margaritas. At this point, we had to institute the “no photographic evidence” rule. Laughed at the movie, but I’m not sure how funny it would have been if we were all sober…

  10. I saw “Here comes the boom” when it was in the theaters. My husband is into wrestling and my son is into band and music. It’s the first movie they both really liked lol.

  11. Here’s a quote from the movie that I thought was interesting. So if Kevin James ever got to me Nick Page, this is what he would say 🙂

“How much food do you think is stuck in that beard?”

  12. I just listened to this podcast. The lens finder is pretty sweet. I’ve tried it out.

For here comes the boom, I loved the movie. I didn’t know it when I saw it, but one of my buddies I wrestled with in high school was in the movie. He’s out filming another chapter for The Purge just this week.
