This page is for submitting classes and tutorials which will be sold on the Improve Photography Store and Improve Photography Plus. Our target time length is 45-minutes. Please be in contact with Jim throughout your project to make sure it will meet our guidelines.
Pay Schedule
Remember to send an invoice to [email protected] for payment. Improve Photography LLC pays according to the following schedule.
- $2,500 – A 1-hour course that is predominantly shooting on-location with only short portions sitting down, in a classroom setting, or at the computer. The course should be fully edited and ready to publish. Our users are CONSTANTLY asking for more on-location classes that show the actual photo taking. If the course is less than 45 minutes, take away that percentage from the total cost. So a 45-minute course would be worth $1,875.
- $2,000 – A 1-hour course that is mostly post-processing or at a desk. If the course is less than one hour, take away that percentage from the total cost. The course should be fully edited and ready to publish. So a 45-minute course would be worth $1,875.
- $1,000/day – Earnings if Improve Photography does the editing of the video and videography, and you prepare and teach the course for the video. The $1,000 is per full day of filming.
Target Time Length
Generally, we want classes to be 45 minutes in length. Shorter classes can feel more like a Youtube Video, and longer courses, unless VERY well done, usually get a little dry. On-location videos are fine to go slightly longer with communication with Jim, but classroom setting or post-processing classes should not exceed 45 minutes or else they are just too boring to watch.
