Note From Jim

The Tamron 28-75mm lens is one of my favorite lenses to recommend because very few photographers have ever heard of it. It's so close in focal length to the 24-70s that most people skip over it, but this is a beautiful lens available at a great price. I would have no issues whatsoever shooting this lens in my professional work, and it's nice that it focuses so close that it doubles as a macro lens. In fact, I'd even say I prefer the 28-75mm focal length over the 24-70 as well. Your next best bet is the Sigma 35mm f/1.4. Frankly, most photographers would prefer the 35 for its faster aperture and better build quality, but I don't like shooting a wide prime as it feels very limiting to me. Personal preference.
