If you are picky about perfect quality, then you have to choose the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II. There isn't another choice. But if you're shooting professional work WITHOUT a magnifying glass then you can save a bundle on very very good 24-70s by picking some of the others on this page. ESPECIALLY take a look at the Tamron 24-70. It includes image stabilization where the Canon doesn't, which is significant. All of these lenses are capable of turning out professional, sharp photos--no question. You may want to check out the previous version of this lens, which is one-third the price but doesn't have image stabilization and isn't quite as scary sharp.
