If I were you, I would buy the Tamron 70-200 immediately. It's lighter than the Canon, and the optical quality is exceptional. Compared to the Canon, it is 95% as good for about a thousand dollars less. You could also choose the 24-70 and I think the Tamron 24-70 is BETTER than the Canon because it has image stabilization, is less expensive, and is lighter.
