  1. Jim,

Tried the high speed sync trick with a YN-560 III and my Canon 6D with no luck. The sync speed is 1/160 and at 1/200, the black band at the bottom appeared. Too bad.

  2. Back button focus is also great for HDR/Bracketing. On my dSLR (Nikon) when you bracket a photo, the camera tries to check focus before every shot. So either turn off auto focus on lens or set the camera so you use back button focus.

  3. hi Andrew,

High speed sync works best with the older flashes , the best ones are the nikon SB 24 flashes, it has a relativel slow burn time , i can sync it up to 8000th with my d800 , my d300 works fine till 3000th, and i tried the 5Dmk2 and it was fine till 2000th.
the SB 24 sells for around 40$ per piece.
    good luck.

  4. I’m a little behind in the podcasts and I looked up the photo you said was one of your favorites, very nice job! That photo is beautiful!

  5. What was that site you mentioned that you have your photos rated on? Love the podcast and your attitude towards photography.

  6. I’m catching up on your podcasts and in episode 53 you mentioned the travel group idea. I’m having trouble finding it, and was wondering if you decided to take it down, or if there is something else I need to do to get into the group. Thanks for the help, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Great podcasts, and I’m learning a lot.

    Warm regards,

    Larry
