We get questions on the Facebook page or emails from our photography students asking “Should I spend $1,000+ to go from (for instance) a Canon T2i to upgrade to a Canon 7D?” Our resounding answer in each case is NO, do not upgrade your camera simply because you think more expensive = better camera. While there are differences in the camera features (for instance: the 7D has “exclusive dust and weather resistance”), and they are all excellent cameras, the fact is that the image quality is going to be the same (or very similar) between them. If you’re hoping for different or improved image quality, upgrading to one of these cameras won’t really make much difference. Instead, investigate what features you would be getting by upgrading and make the decision based on that instead of image quality.
Canon has had the same sensor in some of its cameras for so long – the Canon T2i, Canon T3i, Canon T4i, Canon 60D, and Canon 7D all have similar (if not identical!) specs and, while there are many differences between the cameras, it appears that the image sensors are all the same.

Do you like the canon 4ti? I am ready to move from the first Canon Rebel to something with better image sensory. I am debating between the 7d, 60d, and 4ti. I currently just soothing for fun but I would like to get into something more one day. Any opinion? The cheapest 7 d I’ve seen is $850, 60d $670, and $550 for 4ti.
i would go with a used mark 5d II, even though it’s a budget stretch and it is the older model 5d, it jumps you to a better sensor
