I’ve heard you mention Pixoto in the past and I’m eager to try it out, but the only thing stopping me is their Terms of Service… what do you think about the following?

“The license granted to Pixoto includes the right to use your User Content fully or partially for promotional reasons and to distribute and redistribute your Content to other parties, web-sites, applications, and other entities, provided such Content is attributed to you in accordance with the credits (i.e. username, profile picture, photo title, descriptions, tags, and other accompanying information) if any and as appropriate, all as submitted to Pixoto by you.”

For me, I don’t like the fact that they can share my work with 3rd parties (and possibly not pay me for the usage) if the third party agrees to credit me. Or how do you think we should we be translating this?

I’m really enjoying all the new podcasts and contributors, awesome job.

One thing I’m not in agreement with Jim on is Pixoto, I do have a profile on it and have persisted with it but I have my doubts about it.
Most of the photos I’m voting on don’t look like they have had much thought put into them, Im not sure if people are paying attention when they are voting. Sometimes I’ll look at a category leaderboard and it will have shots that are not in focus and with poor composition. The main leaderboard seems to be mainly over-saturated images, sure some of them are great but a lot are overdone.

The thing I think they do very well is great canvases for the price… I totally recommend this product

Does anyone else think that or is it just me, the images on 500px always look like they deserve to be there and you can find amazing images in every category. I know photography is subjective but the way the voting is set up on Pixoto I’m not sure people are taking care with the votes
I haven’t used Flickr by the way, just 500px and view bug (but only in a half hearted way).
Just for reference my pics rate about the same on both

    Thanks for some great shows!
